October Home of the Month
When Steven and Christine Visneau first moved in, they were drawn to Old Lake Highlands for its tree-lined streets and family-friendly environment.
"We’d been living in Lakewood’s Hollywood Santa Monica area, but after getting outbid, Old Lake Highlands just felt right," says Steven. "Plus, it’s so close to Hexter Elementary, which was a huge win for our kids."
The house, originally built in 1951, held a ton of charm, but by 2018, it was time for an upgrade. So, they partnered with Modern Craft to completely tear down and rebuild, crafting a new space while preserving the spirit of the original footprint.
And the design? Chef’s kiss. The renovation took just over a year, but the results were worth it.
The white walls, sparse design, steel accents, and natural wood tones give their home a laid-back, Southern California look and feel. The Visneaus have truly created a home that balances modern style with cozy comfort, turning it into a space where family memories are made and creativity flows.
With the holidays approaching, you might also enjoy seeing how this home was featured in D Magazine, decorated for the season.
Thanks for sharing your story and love of design with us, Steven & Christine!
